Posted on | March 11, 2010 | No Comments

The first time home buyer tax credit extension is likely to be a very hot topic in Washington over the next few weeks and month. Many first time home buyers are wondering if the $8000 check will be extended through April. Unfortunately, no one knows the answer to this question at the present time.

In November of 2009 there was great debate concerning the first time home buyer tax credit. After a few amends to the bill Washington decide to extend and expand the first time home buyer tax credit. Not only would first time buyers get a check for $8000 but move up buyers would receive a check for $6500.

If you have lived in the same residence for five years or longer you could receive a check for $6500 by moving up. You could use this money to pay off other bills or sink the money right back in to your new home so you increase the equity almost instantly. This extra money is a very valuable opportunity that you should not pass up.

Take the time and effort to research this first time home buyer tax credit. If it is not extended you must be under contract by April 30th, 2010 or you will not receive the check. With only a few weeks left it might be time to take action and get started on the home buying experience.
