If you are looking to apply for high yield CDs today then there are many opportunities available online. Almost every bank that offers CDs as an investment will allow you to apply on the Internet. To find today’s highest CD banks rates you will need to do your research but expect rates between 1.5% and 1.7% for CDs maturing in one year.
If this investment return is not attractive to you there are many other investment vehicles that could yield a higher return. There are many community banks spread throughout the country that are offering yields higher than 4% on checking or bank accounts at the present time.
Although this may seem too good to be true there are many opportunities. By simply doing community bank research you could find a bank in your area that offers much higher yields than CDs or money market accounts. It is important to note that most of these banks only allow an investment of $25,000.
There are also a few restrictions on these accounts. You are likely to be required to use an ATM or debit card at least ten times a month. You are also likely to find that you will need one electronic transfer into the account at least once a month. If you can do this then you will receive the high yield.
