If you are looking to gain interest of 4% or higher starting today you might want to do research on a high yield savings account. Although you may not think this is a possibility there are many local community banks that are offering interest rates higher than 4% on a savings or checking account.
It is very important to understand that you must live in a specific area to have access to these high interest rates. By simply doing some research you are going to find that there are local community bank spread throughout the country they can help you obtain a high yield savings account. Your best bet is to look for a bank in your area.
By doing some research on banks in your area and making a few telephone calls you could find her very attractive interest rate just down the road. Unfortunately, if there is not a local community bank in your area offering high rates than you may have to accept a lower return.
Many of the larger banks that are also national banks are not offering as high when interest rate on a checking account right now. If this is your only option then there is little you can do. It would be wise to do your research on local community banks before opening up a savings account with a national bank.
