Compare Mortgage Interest Rates Today – Current Home Loan Rates Stable

Many current and future homeowners will look to compare mortgage interest rates today. Current home loan rates have been stable at the beginning of the week but that could change at any time. Currently we are seeing the 30 year fixed mortgage rate around 4.9% while the 15 year fixed mortgage rate is around 4.3%.
There are many mortgage lenders that are currently advertising low mortgage rates but you must understand that you will need a very good credit score and a low debt to income ratio to have the opportunity to lock in to rates this low. If you have these requirements then you could get a 30 year fixed mortgage rate under 5%.
The housing market has went for quite the ride over the last few years as there was a huge run up and then an enormous drop off. Unfortunately, this has scared many homeowners into thinking that the value of their home may never stabilize. Eventually we will see home prices stabilize but it could be a few years.
The best thing most homeowners can do to protect themselves from falling prices is to get the lowest mortgage interest rate possible. If you lower your monthly mortgage payment you could be reducing the amount of money you have lost on your home.
