Bad Credit Debt Consolidation – Lower Credit Card Payments Today

Going through the bad credit debt consolidation process could help you get lower overall credit card payments today. The average American has eight credit cards and it can be very difficult to remember the due date for the bills on all of these cards. If you have several credit cards it is very likely that you have missed a payment at one time in your life.
Just because you miss a credit card payment your interest rate gets jacked up drastically. With so much going on in such a fast paced society it can often be hard to remember all these due dates and you should not be penalized so harshly but that is the way the credit card industry works. If you have missed a payment in the last year you know that the increase is even more drastic.
Since the credit crisis, credit card companies and money lenders have had to cover their backs because they know that many Americans are defaulting on their credit. To cover themselves they are charging extremely high interest rates to anyone who is at risk for defaulting. Unfortunately this means that if you miss a payment these companies are going to punish you with a rate in excess of 20% at times.
If you consolidate all of your debt into one lump sum and make one payment each month you are going to find it make easier to make that payment. If you know that all of your credit cards and lines of credit are due on a certain day it would be much harder to forget that than to forget the eight or nine different days that all the individual credit card payments are due.
WIth this in mind it would be very beneficial for those with multiple credit cards to consolidate their debt. Please realize that this consolidation process is not going to be free. You will have to pay a fee for these services and like any industry some companies are going to charge more than others. It would be wise to do your research before signing the dotted line with any company.
