Obama Mortgage – Will He Fix Things?
Posted on | January 11, 2009 | 15 Comments
Obama mortgage rates are going the subject of a lot of discussions in the upcoming year. Love him or hate him, all Americans must agree on one thing – Barack Obama is a VERY smart individual. With an undergraduate degree from Columbia and a Harvard Law degree, there is little that anyone can do to prove that our President Elect is not extremely intelligent. With that being said, he has the undaunting task of getting America out of one of the worst recessions since the Great Depression. Although his greatest expertise is not in finances or business, being an individual with a great mental capacity will assist him in understanding how we got into this situation, subprime lending, and what we can do to get out of it.
The greatest challenge that President Elect Obama will have in the next year is selecting the “right” people to the “right” positions. It is highly likely that he already has several candidates in mind for key financial related positions, but if they are put in the wrong situations and environments, this financial climate could get even worse.
One of the brightest statements that Mr. Obama has made so far is that in this tough economic situation is that it may take several YEARS to get things back on track. Promising someone something within a certain period of time and not delivering is one of the worst psychological letdowns that can be done. Imagine doing it to an ENTIRE country that just elected you their leader? I commend Mr. Obama for realizing that this may take a lot longer then most Americans want to admit. Many years may pass before Americans start to buy homes again.
Another trait that Mr. Obama has that will assist in cleaning up the economy is his ability to reach out to each and every American, especially the younger generation. By creating weekly YouTube videos, he is giving the younger generation a chance to not only hear what our leader has to say, but also to get involved. The future of this country is using Web 2.0 on a daily basis. If they plan on getting a mortgage, it is likely they will search the Internet, hopefully Subprime Blogger, to find information. Things are greatly changing and our President Elect realizes that and is using it to his advantage.
Ultimately, no one knows if President Elect Obama will be able to get us out of this mortgage crisis. He has many personality traits that will definitely help, but anything and everything will happen in the next four years. What an interesting time in which we are living!

Obama expertise is in democratic political Chicago-style corruption ,associations with Ayers,Wright,Farrakhan ,Rezco and Acorn. Welfare economy and bailout by the gov’t the mismanaged corporations and the powerful labor unions.Guess which comes first. An islamic terrorist attack on the US mainland or more exposure of massive corruption nationwide of democratic politicians. If it is an islamic terrorist attck on the US homeland Obama and his administration will be gone rapidly. The US military will be forced to intervene to protect our freedom, citizens and homeland security and prevent foreign aggression.

The media continues to scare the hell out the American People, “It may be many years before Americans start to buy homes again” I am in Real Estate in California and I have not been this busy in 7 years. Are prices falling? you bet
but that coupled with low interest rates makes this the best buying opportunity we will probably witness in our lifetime.
Very very sad what the media is doing to our country. The New York Times just put us one step closer to war with Iran in it’s covert operations article….
They don’t get it !!!!!

The only thing I can think of Obama’s expertise regarding the mortgage crisis is to foreclose all the homes so there will be no more mortgage to worry about.

Your writing is excellent. Some of your ideas and conclusions are off base. First, there is no evidence that Barack Obama is “Extremely intelligent,” as he has tied himself to people that are less than honest and already a Clintonesque circus has begun before he moves into the White House.
Second, he has no expertise that will help fix the economic mess. He said during the campaign that he “had a plan” on the economy, but now he is asking for ideas and will use good ones no matter their source. Obama has had no experience managing anything, not even a small business. Further, if he is so extremely intelligent, why can we not see copies of his Harvard theses? Why can we not even see a copy (certified) of his birth certificate.
He is a wonderful writer, if it was truly he that wrote his early memoirs. He is a terrific speech maker, but he stumbles over facts and ‘uh, uh, uh’ when he is talking without a script. I love hearing his speeches, but wince at his press conference answers.
Third, Obama is moving forward with an economic plan written by the crooks that fouled our economy in the first place, without holding accountable the people that got us into this mess, namely Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi, Franklin Raines, Maxine Waters, etc. See the C-Span videos of the hearings on investigating Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae for proof.
If you are going to blog, please investigate and speak about the evidentiary findings and stop being a cheerleader. There are far too many PR people posing as “Reporters” already — new witness: The treatment of Caroline Schlossberg (referred to now only as Kennedy) who has no government or management experience versus Sarah Palin who is not only experienced but accomplished in bringing about positive change.
The mainstream media are foul. Do not become like them!

He was spoon fed questions from the media during his campaign, and now won’t take random questions from reporters (he uses a list to call on them). He speaks in generalities; has no specific ideas. If he does, PLEASE POINT ONE OUT TO ME. Even your blog doesn’t point to anything specific, other than his “indisputable brilliance”. What is he recommending to EVEN TO START WITH other than ram-rodding a stimulus package with taxpayer money for failing industries and creating more gov’t. jobs. Have you seen his transcripts from Harvard or Columbia? Bush released his. Even Gore and Kerry released theirs.

There are a lot of people that graduated from Yale, Harvard, and Columbia that got us into this mess. Doing really stupid things. The Ivy League is not all that great based on recent historical perspective.

ya ya even a stupid artist like me can say and have said the very same things here’s the question .if it took so long to get to this place how come no one made adjustments? answere, those same people who are now so very willing to spend our tax dollars were makeing big bank and getting $$$$$for reelections, it’s all about reelection…..bumper stickers and cute sayings you mark my words, if he and the dems. can’t get reps. to go along with his financial plan they wont pass it on their own because they are afraid it won’t work there is no plan it’s just toss money into pot holes and when the pot holes are filled everyone is on a govt. pension it’s so stupid it’s funny….y not go build some power plants? how bout some gas lines?…i’m sorry his expertiese is getting elected he is clueless

Obama obviously has a speech disfluency demonstrated by repeated use of “uh” in non-texted speaking. While this in and of itself does not indicate abnormal intelligence, not getting sppech training for someone in the public eye at such a high level does make me question his intelligence. Thus I do not agree with the premise that he is very smart.

I agree with Marc: A lot of people that graduated from Yale, etc., do really stupid things. Since Obama has no expertise in finance, and no experience in running anything other than a community protest group, things will only improve once the media backs off and we stop government”bailouts.”

Your positive outlook is refreshing. The same observations can be made of George W. Bush. With undergraduate from Yale and an MBA from Harvard, we can all agree that he is also a smart man. Wait….wasn’t he accepted because his father pulled some strings? Maybe Obama was accepted because of affirmative action? I’m sure this point will be quickly discounted as “racist”. When Bush assembled his cabinet of highly competent people, they were necessary because Bush couldn’t think for himself. A well qualified staff couldn’t possibly due to wise choices.
We can all surely agree that President Obama cannot provide the same great material for comedians. The Daily Show may cease to be the main news source for the younger generation. They might then turn to Internet bloggers to find quality information that will shape major decisions such as taking out a mortgage and electing smart leaders.

Obama is surey a great real estate mind………..maybe he can tell everyone else how to get Tony Rezco to buy a strip of land next to Obama’s or your “mansion” for $600,000 one day and sell it to Obama THE SAME DAY for $300.000. Obama needs to be Impeached now and save the USA a drawn out trial on conviction of such incriminating evidence.

You’re kidding right? This guy couldn’t lead a horse to water. If you have any earnings capability, hide your money and run away.
Remember when Babs S. said she would move to Canada if GWB got elected, wonder why she didn’t? Taxes.
Get ready to run away. . .
Obummmer. . .

Umm…??? Expertise?
The only thing we have noticed in that category is his expertise in funneling $15 million of our campaign funds, into his legal fund to block the release of his alledged legal “Birth Certificate” or “Certificate of Birth” in 4 courts?
If I became the very first USA Black President and was asked for same, I would be so proud I would fax copies to everyone that asked and every dad burn newspaper in the WORLD. wouldn’t you?
Mortgage crisis? He don’t even know what a mortrgage is. His home in Il was GIVEN to him by a person serving 10 years now!

As much as we love to think that a change in president or administration will help us in this crisis, we need to stop whining and start working together. So, yes, his expertise (or lack of it) will be a catalyst, but we need to chip in, literarally.
You should check out this idea to be presented to Barack Obama on inauguration day:
