T. Boone Pickens Worth: $3,100,000,000

Most Americans know T. Boone Pickens for his “Picken’s Plan” commercials on television.  The plan is an attempt to promote United States energy independence with a combination of wind, nuclear and drilling proposals.  He also endorses an incentive plan for natural-gas powered heavy duty vehicles.  It is very interesting to learn how Pickens became so wealthy.

Pickens studied geology at Oklahoma State where he graduated in 1951.  He worked for Philips Petroleum as his first job out of college but became bored within three years and quit.  He then started Mesa Petroleum in 1956 with $2,500.  He discovered gas, oil and debt and sold to Richard Rainwater for a great profit.  He has influenced the oil industry   attempted takeovers of Philips, Unocal and Gulf.  He currently runs the BP Capital energy fund.  He is a true philanthropist as he has donated over $500 million in the last three years of which $165 million has gone to his alma mater.

Since July, Pickens has reported that he and his energy fund have lost over $2 billion due to the plunge in commodities prices.  Although it has been a tough loss, Pickens claims that he will get the $2 billion back.  That is a bold statement for an 80 year old investor.

Tough $hit Mr. Pickens! When I found out he was the bankroll behind the lieing smearing Swiftboaters in 2004, he lost my vote for anything! I hope he dies pennyless!

Not to mention he is trying to push natural gas and totally dismissing the electric car as impossible… But I think he is more interested in having a product that has a premium price and that he has the tools to drill for it so he will be the one making the buck… think about it electric cars would run on electricity and the price for electricity is way less than natural gas (ex: electric heating being better and cheaper than gas). That’s why he has to run this media campaign to sway public opinion to backing him (and I haven’t seen the commercials in a long time does he even mention natural gas powered cars). So he is running this campaign to totally dupe the American people in to thinking he’s all about green but in reality he’s all about monetary green… It will be a sad day WHEN congress backs him simply cause he has the support of the American sheep… I mean people.

I mean come on he didn’t get a few billion dollars by being stupid… Shit he wouldn’t even waste his money on those ads unless he was going to make money. Unless he’s really doing it for the right reasons then he’s just an egotistical maniac spending millions to toot his own horn saying look at me I saving the environment. He is just trying to sway public opinion, and I’m kind of afraid its working. And he brags about how green his plan is but the biggest part is the natural gas car and I may be wrong on this but isn’t natural gas a finite resource (lol jk i KNOW it’s finite)???

Sorry about the choppiness of this but its just a rant about how the elete upper class allies trys to screw the American people and that kind of gets me worked up… and if you think I’m wrong, you’re naive as hell
