The Amero – The New United States Currency?
Posted on | November 23, 2008 | 17 Comments
There have been many rumors flying around that the countries the United States of America, Mexico and Canada will give up their currency and adopt a new unified currency called the “amero.” With the Federal Reserve Bank printing dollars at will the value of the dollar is bound to decrease as it has over the last decade. The amero is expected to have a gold and silver backing rather than be solely based on paper, so the money cannot be “printed.”
Ideas of the amero have been swirling since 2006 and it is highly doubtful that it will ever come to truth, but it is an interesting concept to think about. The United States Constitution mandated that we use silver and gold coins as money or to at least back our money. It seems that our country has definitely gotten away from this idea. Do you think a new United States currency is in the near future?

I doubt that it would be based on silver and gold. Anywhere you look people scoff at the idea of basing our currency on commodities, speaking of the constitution as being anachronistic. No, what they want to do is collapse the dollar, set up a world central bank, create a new fiat currency for the “North American Union” and work towards the ultimate goal of a “New World Order” with one currency, one nation, and one religion. It will happen… though I’m hoping that maybe liberty is still something people are interested in, and that we will see a return of a gold and silver based currency, and negate the new world order that Bush’s and Clinton were both so fond of… looks like Obama is going to follow suit.

Obama actually addressed the issue of the North American Union and denied it flat out, saying we would never surrender our sovereignty. The Amero would actually be a good idea but it ain’t going to happen for a long, long, long time if at all.

I say it’s time to start a campaign to repeal the “Federal Reserve” which is not federal at all, it’s a banking cartel whom control our monitary and fiscal policy. They have been in existance sience 1913 when they met on Jeckle Island to formulate factional banking. This has led to recessions every 7 to 10 years and now it looks like a depression as has happen every 7o plus years. This system screws the average American finacially and leads to slavery as they will never pay off the debt. This can be resolved by requiring a majority in both the houses of congress to repeal the Federal reserve. Section 31 of the Fedral Reserve Act states that The right to amend, alter or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. A repeal of this act by congress would take away the power the Fed currently holds to regulate the nation’s money supply. Article 1, section 8 says that ” The Congress shall have the power to coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard and weights and measures”. It is past time We the People took back the right to coin money from the money changers whom have made every American a slave to their lies. They are nothing but thiefs and should be tried as treason bigots. Go to www. americanpolicy.org to become part of the solution to regaining our fiscal and monitary policy and return the right to coin money back to We the people. Hurry as time is running out. If we do nothing then don’t complain if you find our liberties and freedoms are gone in short order. America is free only when it’s people realize it is our Goverment and not the Banking cartels. We can regain control of these out of control congressmen whom have become puppets to pompus boneheads whom want to control the world through fiscal and moneitary policy. They create 99% of all wars and humanitary conflicks world wide. Iam calling all those whom love freedon to get off their asses and respond to American Policy Center and join their fight to take back our Goverment and return it back to “We the People”

Dear Justin,
Obama is also African American, took financial advice from Fred Raines, and is great friends with Bill Ayers. Likewise, if you wish to speak about the American economy please do so in an educated manner, ain’t is not a word.
Have a good day! (:

The idea that the currency is actually worth something, it is made of gold and silver, is alluring to me. Americans, and the whole world for that matter, believe that paper is worth something. At least gold and silver are truly worth something, unlike paper.

When America went off the gold standard it ceased being a Republic and became a country run by a cabal of individuals bent on grabbing power. Call it anything you want, one thing it isn’t…”for the people by the people”. One freedom will still have is the Right of Free Speach and the ability to educate ourselves by any means possible. Excersise your right. Goto Trueworldhistory.info. watch the videoes and make up your own mind. Then do something with the information(ecercise your right of free speach) and make your opinion known. Do it know while we still have these rights!

I at one time claim to be a Republican,” I repent on behalf of millions of faithfull disolutioned party members”. I also want to add there is little difference in the Democratic party, There are bone heads on both sides of the isle. Both parties have sold “we the people”, to the one world mafia of thugs and dictators. Our children are being brain washed by the ratical left ie the ACLU whom have systematically dismantle every good thing about our be-loved America. I love this Country and I care about our children and grandchildren. “Is there going to be an America, land of the free, home of the brave”? God I pray that “We the people wake up!!” I am sick of the raticles demanding their perverted agenda and jaming it down our throats. The solution to turn this tide is to regain control of coining our money! without this simple process we will have little to say as to how our republic is govered. do you get it?. If History is right we are on a short path to commiting our county to socialism, facist state and possibly communism. This is where a few control the masses into financial slavery. The so called $700 billion bail out is nothing more than a round trip from the Fed, privately owned by the banks and then lent back to the banks. What a scam, then we are stuck paying higher taxes in the form of fiat money.I urge all of you to go to http://www.americanpolicy.org and support the American Policy Center with your support we can take back our right to coin money and again get inflation under control. Most of the comments here have not addressed the real problem, which has been spending. The government, our elected officials, have been on a spending spree for the last 30 years with no regard to HOW the bill gets paid! Anyone who has a job knows you can’t spend more than you make.
But that’s exactly what our government has done, and is doing. We as citizens should demand a balanced budget from our elected “leaders”. Maybe we could get get Congress to enact legislation calling for a special ballot during the next election cycle which would allow voters to vote on such legislation. So long as we spend more than we earn, the already enormous debt will just continue to grow until the entire system collapses. We’ve seen how devastating the effects of a few major investment banks failing can have on the entire economy. We’re feeling it now as unemployment skyrockets and the value of our homes sinks into the sunset.
While the idea of a new currency based on precious metals does provide some tangible reference, the notion that Mexico and Canadian currencies would suddenly share with our own presents all kinds of problems. Not the least of which is, how does one calculate the value of existing currencies? How many ‘Ameros’ does ‘Joe Canada’ get, and how many do I get? What calculation tool would this be based on? Trying to solve our national debt by devising a new currency sidesteps the real issue, which is to STOP spending more than we make!

If the “Amero” does become a reality, hopefully at least by then, people will have invested their currency offshore, i.e. the Swiss franc, where it is backed by gold. For now, we need to invest in the foreign exchange currency market to make the most out of what we have.
The fact is that if we ever adopt the Amero, all of those thousands that you have sitting in your 401k’s and Bank accounts will be worthless because they will be bought for pennies on the dollar, and nothing is backing the dollar anyway; well, oil for now, but how long will that last, given the fluctuation in that market.
It is quite possible and highly probable that the federal reserve will be changing your old dollars for new dollars soon. And you may be required to give them $1,000 to receive $1.
Let’s consider what you are really worth today in real money. Based on the devaluation of the federal reserve note and if one ounce of gold cost $1,000 federal reserve notes your worth in 1960 dollar value is approximately $35 per $1,000.
Now if the federal reserve offers you that kind of exchange rate take it and consider yourself lucky. It mostly will be far less.
As a market watcher let me assure you that it is not going to get better. Sure, your going to see some relief by the so-called recovering of the dollar at times on the currency market but this is false hope to help keep your misplaced confidence in a worthless currency.
It’s like this. Remember when you could buy gasoline for .99 at the pumps? Then almost over night it went to $1.99. But later it went back down to $1.49 and then everyone thought they were buying cheap gas. Are we nuts or what? Now that cheap gas is over $3 and we want to blame someone other than the guilty parties for it.
Good luck to us all.

I have to say I agree with most of what Angel says. The ride will be rough. Find a way to get your dollars into a currency backed by gold.
This “Amero” think is growing by leaps and bounds. Something will need to be done when America goes bankrupt.
Actually I think we are, we just haven’t admitted it yet.

This is all new to me. It makes me feel like my hands are tied. I don’t know what to do. I am just getting by as it is. Our so called goverment has no regard for the middle class or the poor. The fat cats need to be taken down. WE as the real Americans the back bone of this once great nation need to make a stand; But where do we start? What can we do? Who do we talk to? I’m lost and very sad about our once great nation.

The only bad thing is the fact of it being change and teens would rather carry dollar bills instead of jingling coins. Also i think the amero is going to cause pandemonium among us.

ALL WE NEED IS
TWO PATRIOTIC GENERALS TO MARCH OUR BOYS INTO WASHINGTON, TAKE OVER AND HANG THESE TRAITORS
THAT CALL THEMSELVES OUR POLITICAL LEADERS ..
AND ALL OTHER TRAITORS ALONG WITH THEM.
OUR BOYS ARE DYING IN FOREIGN LANDS FOR NO VALID REASON.THESE ARE NOT WARS BUT INVASIONS FOR PERSONAL INTEREST . PERHAPS THAT’S WHY SO MANY OF OUR BOYS COMMIT SUICIDE…
IF WE DON’T TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK…WE CANNOT CALL OURSELVES AMERICANS.
