In the current economic state of increasing inflation and unemployment rates it is very difficult to prosper in America. With record number of foreclosures on the horizon, it is hard to see a glimmer of hope but there is one. If there were ever a buyers market, now is the time. While most do not have money or credit to purchase a home, if they do, there are bargains in almost every region of the country. Basic supply and demands shows that the housing market is still oversupplied which in turn will decrease demand and prices. Until supply meets demand, prices will continue to slide.
Buying a home is a long term investment for most. If one looks at it as a long term investment and does not worry about a short term loss, buying today is a great opportunity. Something I learned early in my professional career is to have money when others do not. Everyone had money in the late 1990′s as it was easy to “guess” on the housing market and stock market with great success. Unfortunately those who bought high got burned. Today is a time in which we can buy low, but the problem is actually buying. Those who saved money for a “rainy day” are going to have amazing opportunities in the next few years and I hope you are one of those people!
Other opportunities exist in the corporate world as well. Some of the poorly run companies that are being bought out are worth much more than they are being sold for. Once again, having money when others don’t proves to be a great opportunity for investment in the future.
