Sub prime loans are a huge issue! Many people find they are unable to make payments, especially as the interest rate adjusts. Loan modifications do not appear to be affective (or fast). As a former mortgage broker, I used sub prime loans as a way to help clients with lower credit scores purchase their homes and begin to rebuild their credit. Unfortunately, many did not make timely payments and raise their scores in the two years prior to the rate adjustment. If you are considering refinancing and/or rebuilding your credit to qualify for lower rate loans, please read my book “Getting To Closing” (www.CherylLPeck.com) to help you understand the application and closing process.
