Government Mortgage Refinance Plan – Obama Will Help You Save Your Home

Posted on | December 3, 2009 | No Comments

The government mortgage refinance plan was created to help homeowners avoid foreclosure and save their homes. President Obama and his staff have worked very hard to keep mortgage interest rates at all-time lows. Just last weekend we saw the all-time low of 4.49% achieved on the 30 year fixed mortgage rate. The Federal Reserve Bank continues to buy mortgage-backed securities which helps to keep mortgage interest rates extremely low.

If you are having trouble making your monthly mortgage payment one of the options for you is to refinance to a lower mortgage interest rate. If you have or not refinanced over the last few years there’s a very good chance that you could save several points on your mortgage loan. This could equate to over several hundred dollars a month saved.

By refinancing your home loan you will find that there are many options available for you. There are many lenders out there who will be willing to help you go through this process and it only takes a few Google searches to find the ones that are in your area. Make sure to pick a lender that works well with you as you will be using this lender quite a bit in the near future.

Many of the big banks have been advertising low mortgage interest rates for quite some time. If you currently have a banking relationship with a mortgage lender and might be a good idea to check them out first as they are likely to already know who you are and know what your credit score is. This might make the process a little bit easier for the time being.

Mortgage interest rates being well below 4.75% there is no reason that you should not take advantage of this current opportunity. President Obama has worked hard to make sure that all homeowners have access to low mortgage rates so you need to do your part and apply for a mortgage today. Before making any major financial decision is always smart to do a sufficient amount of research.
