Back to school tax free sales are becoming very popular in states throughout the country as many parents and guardians are looking to save money on school supply purchases. The Missouri tax free weekend in 2011 will take place on August 5th through 7th and will offer customers an opportunity to avoid sales tax on computers, software, clothes and school supplies.
With millions of people greatly struggling when it comes to personal finances many households are looking to do anything possible to save a little bit of extra cash. For those who live in Missouri there is an opportunity to at least save a little bit by avoiding sales tax on some of the popular back to school items.
Some of the most popular stores during the first weekend in August will likely be WalMart, Target, Best Buy, HHGregg and other stores that sell computer supplies. The Apple Store is sure to be packed throughout the state and some of the teen retailers including Abercrombie, American Eagle, Buckle and Forever 21 will also see a pick up in business.
Before making any purchases or going out on this specific weekend it would be smart to do a little bit of extra research. The list of items that will be tax free are as follows:
Clothing under $100
School supplies under $50
Computer software under $350
Computers/computer equipment under $3,500
