Daily Mortgage Interest Rates for July 22 – Afternoon Update – 15 Year Fixed Rates Stable with 10 Year Yield

Posted on | July 22, 2010 | No Comments

Daily mortgage interest rates for July 22nd, 2010 were reported this morning very close to all time lows and the afternoon update is quite similar.  In fact, we have seen very little movement in the afternoon as the 10 year treasury rate yield is slightly changed at 2.93%.  This slow movement help to stabilize mortgage interest rates at the following levels:

30 Year Fixed Mortgage Rates – 4.36%

15 Year Fixed Mortgage Rates – 3.89%

Today has been one of the few days in which we haven’t seen great volatility after a testimony by Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Ben Bernanke.  This morning Mr. Bernanke spoke in Washington with much of the same commentary as the last few months but neither the markets nor treasury yields saw a huge move today which is completely the opposite of yesterday.

Tomorrow, it will likely be the case that mortgage interest rates are very stable as Friday afternoon trading is very slow; especially in the summer months.  With that being the case we look for all time low mortgage rates to head into the weekend.
