Mortgage Interest Rates November 17 – Rates Mixed Early Today
Posted on | November 17, 2009 | No Comments
Mortgage interest rates for November 17th, 2009 are mixed early. Today we are seeing the 30 year fixed rate up to 4.68% while the 15 year fixed is down to 4.22%. The 5/1 ARM is also up to 3.68%. Mortgage interest rates over the last few weeks have moved sideways to down and we are getting very close to all time lows.
The average weekly all time low for the 30 year fixed mortgage rate is 4.61%. There still needs to be another steady move lower before we see all time lows but it is getting very close. The 10 year treasury rate yield recently dropped below its 50 day moving average so do not be surprised to see mortgage rates continue lower this week.
The next few weeks are going to be very important when it comes to the mortgage market. It is very likely that we are going to see a surge in mortgage applications because of the first time home buyer tax credit extension and expansion. As these applications are increasing mortgage rates are decreasing; is a refi boom next?
