Save Money Any Way Possible

Charlie Gasparino; Who Will Replace Ken Lewis, Former Bank of America CEO?

Posted on | October 1, 2009 | No Comments

Charlie Gasparino exclusively reported on CNBC those possible to replace Ken Lewis as CEO of Bank of America.  There are currently six internal candidates who may get the job.  The names include:

Thomas Montag – Global Banking and Markets President
Barbara DeSoer – Home Loans and Insurance President
Sallie Krawcheck – Global Wealth President
Brian Moynihan – Consumer and Small Business Banking President
Joe Price – CFO
Greg Curl – Chief Risk Officer

The feeling internally is that none of these individuals can step in and do the job right now.  Many feel that they should bring in someone for a year or two to get the job started and then hand it off.  The two names that keep coming up are:

Charles Gifford – Former Head of Fleet Boston
William Boardman – Former Banc One Corporation Vice Chairman

An interesting name that keeps popping up is Robert Steel who was running Wachovia before it imploded and was sold to Wells Fargo.  The issue with Steel is that he came on Mad Money and said everything was great with Wachovia and we all know what happened there.  He might still be under investigation from the SEC as well.
