For those of you that were unaware, Subprime Blogger is owned and written by one person…..me. For the last eight months, I have been writing, marketing and performing SEO for this website coupled with being a full time retail manager. If you would like to know how I feel about my retail management job please read Why Retail Management Sucks. I recently put in my two weeks notice and decided that I will pursue something I love to do which is research, writing and internet marketing. My employment as a retail manager ends July 3rd and I will commit my time to Subprime Blogger.

I am very excited to do this as I throughly enjoy everything about writing for and promoting websites; for more on this read How to Make Money – Do What You Love, the Subprime Blogger Story. Now that I will have the ability to update this site during business hours, I will try to be more on top of up-to-date issues like the Case-Shiller home price index, job reports and other government released pieces of data. I will not write an obscene number of articles a day as I would rather write a few quality articles than several mediocre articles.

Being the owner of this website, I will also do all the marketing and SEO for the site. This will take up part of my day which will reduce the amount of content I can write. If any of you would like to submit a guest article, feel free to send it to jwojdylo@subprimeblogger.com. I will be more than happy to post your article with a few adjustments to help it with rankings.

With that being said, here is to a full time Subprime Blogger. I hope you enjoy reading the content half as much as I enjoy producing and marketing it. If you have any topics you would like to read about, feel free to let me know. I will be more than happy to branch out and research other financial related topics. My first article as a full time blogger will be Why Retail Management Sucks, Part II so please return the weekend of July 4th to enjoy this humorous, yet honest depiction of the retail management position.

I get asked the question all the time “how can I make extra money?” On Google, the keyword phrase “how to make money” is searched approximately 832,000 time a month! If you look at the search on Google Trends, you can see that it continues to increase in popularity, doubling over the last two years. For those of you unaware, I am quitting my 40+ hour a week management job because I found a way to make money on the side. I am not going to give away all my secrets, but lets just say that Google is the greatest company in American history!

With that being said, my advice on how to make money is to do what you love! Retail management was never a strong desire for me and it was definitely something that I did not love. Many of my friends, family and coworkers have asked me if I would stay with my particular company if they offered me a raise. I explain that they could triple my salary and I would not stay. It is not about the money at all; it’s about doing what you love to do! If you find something you love to do and can make any type of money doing it, you will realize that it has NOTHING to do with the size of the pay. It has everything to do with enjoying every second of what you do.

For me, being entrepreneurial, grinding numbers, producing opinionated content and helping others is what I absolutely love to do. This combination of attributes is perfect for internet marketing and blogging. What makes it even better is the fact that I can do that from ANY location in the world. Do not get me wrong, 99% of Americans could not do what I do. That is not to sound conceited or snobby. I am someone who can look at 1000′s of sets of data, produce an opinion and then have the ability to market it. I cannot name one other person in my life who loves to crunch numbers the way I do. Actually, most people think it is very boring and a waste of time. With that being said, the waste of time to others is total enjoyment to me.

I am sure many of you reading this are saying the same thing. Why look at the historical data of mortgage rates since 1971 just for the fun of it. Well, thats me, its what I love to do. When you find something you love to do and you make ONE DOLLAR doing it, you will know that is your calling. While working in retail management, I would make paychecks that were 100 times as much as I was making on my side jobs grinding numbers and producing content. The funny thing is that I was MUCH more excited about the $20 a week I was making doing something I loved. This is when I knew I found MY lifelong dream of a job.

After several months of doing what I love after work and in any free time I could find, I have decided to quit my job and do it full time. There is no doubt that this was the best decision of my life. Starting July 4th, I am going to go full time with Subprime Blogger as well as revamping my sister site Church of Cowherd. The Church of Cowherd is going to be focused on investing and stock market material such as the best stocks to invest in while Subprime Blogger will remain mortgage and housing related.

For any of you that would like to hear more about the Subprime Blogger story, please post comments and questions. I will be writing a weekly article on the story of where this site has been and where it will go in the future.

UPDATE: The follow up to this story is available at Do What You Love – How Mortgage Rates Changed My Life
