Bad Credit Unsecured Personal Loans – Can Single Mothers Benefit?
Posted on | September 3, 2009 | 1 Comment
Bad credit unsecured personal loans can be very beneficial to single mothers if they are used in the correct way. The problem is that many single mothers do not understand the ins and outs of how bad credit loans work and how the interest rate accrues. There is little doubt that bad credit personal loans are a much better way to get some extra cash than payday loans. With bad credit personal loans, you do not get hit with nearly as many fees as with a payday cash advance.
Also, with personal loans you have the ability to actually negotiate a little bit. With a bad credit payday loan, the rates are pretty much set in stone and you have to adhere to them. This is unfortunate because every borrower is different yet you are all treated close to the same. You might have a credit score that is 100 points higher than the person that just walked in ahead of you yet you have to pay the exact same fees for borrowing money.
With a personal loan you are going to actually have to speak with a lender and analyze your situation. It will take much more time but it is definitely worth it in the long run. By sitting down and going over your financial situation, the lender might be able to find a deal that is best for just you. If your credit score is not too bad and you have some money in your savings account you may find that there are personal loan offers that you did not even know about.
With that being the case, it would be a wise decision to sit down with a couple of personal loan lenders. I realize that being a single mother time is of the essence but please think about the future of your financial career. If you can lower the interest rate on your loan by several percentage points you could save thousands of dollars over the course of your loan period. You may be able to do this by sitting down with a counselor for just a few hours.
The most important thing for single mothers to realize when getting a bad credit unsecured personal loan is that you need to read the fine print and know what interest rate you have now and what will that interest rate be in the near future. The best option is to get a fixed interest rate as low as possible so you will know that you have the same rate for the duration of the loan.
