Bad credit lenders have popped up all over the place; especially on the Internet. These companies are trying to make money by offering you the personal loan help you need. As with every industry, some of these businesses are going to do very well and provide great service while others are just trying to make a quick buck and get out as soon as possible. Your objective is to find which category your bad credit lender falls in to.
It is not hard to determine this as customer service is the first line of research. If you contact your bad credit lender through email or a telephone call and they do not respond, this is a very bad sign. Many start up financial institutions do not have proper staffing and this is what happens. When you call, you are put on hold for hours at a time because there are not enough customer service representatives. When you do get through to one, they cannot answer your question.
If this has happened to you, you might want to consider a different bad credit lender. The same issue can come up when you send an email of talk with a representative via the Internet. If you have to wait several days for an email response, your lender obviously does not think you are a valuable customer. If you were of value to them they would at least update you of the situation through email or a telephone call.
If your bad credit lender has good customer service, the next bit of research you should do is see how competitive they are with their interest rates and fees. Any great variation from the average is a sign of a company that is not sound. If most bad credit lenders quoted you an interest rate of 16% and one lender quoted you at 6% and one lender quoted you at 27%, these two lenders are probably not great companies. The 6% lender just wants your business quickly because they are probably in bad financial shape and the 27% lender just wants to rip you off with a huge interest rate.
If your lender has good customer service and is in the average for most of its fees and rates then you probably have the personal loan help that you need. If this is not the case, I would advise you to find another bad credit lender. There are many of these companies out there so you shouldn’t have too much of a problem finding a few more bad credit lenders. Do your research before you actually start doing business with them though!
