Bad Credit Financing – Is Mortgage Assistance Available?

Posted on | September 14, 2009 | No Comments

Getting bad credit financing is something that many American home owners have resorted to during the recession.  Can these bad credit lenders offer the mortgage assistance that you need to keep your home?  The answer to this question can only be answered based on your personal situation.  Some lenders can greatly help borrowers to get a lower mortgage rate and reduce their monthly payments while others cannot.  If you have a good credit score and have made all your mortgage payments, it is likely that you can get mortgage assistance.

Bad credit lenders all over the United States are doing whatever it takes to stay in business as it seems each and every week we see more banks and mortgage lenders shut their doors.  There is very little doubt that their lending practices have gotten much more strict but it is also the case that they need customers to survive.  If you have been a good borrower of money throughout the recession you could stand to benefit greatly.

There are many government programs that have been created to help you borrower money at a lower interest rate.  One of the best ways that you can borrow money at a lower interest rate is to improve your credit score.  The only way you can improve your credit score is to find out what your current credit score is.  If you have not checked it in the last six months I would highly suggest buying a detailed credit report and going over it closely.

If you can improve your credit report by just 50 points you could end up saving yourself hundred of dollars on your monthly mortgage payment.  To improve your credit score try to reduce the amount of debt you have on each of your credit cards.  By lowering your debt well below the limit on your cards you could improve your credit score greatly.  Also remember to keep your longest lines of credit open even if you use them sparingly.  It is much better to have a line of credit you have had for several years then to cancel that and sign up for a new line of credit.

Bad credit financing is a way that you can help yourself save some money.  Some bad credit lenders out there will offer mortgage assistance that could lower your monthly mortgage payments by up to hundreds of dollars a month.  Saving several thousand dollars a year could help you to get out of debt and progress towards financial freedom.
