Bad Credit Credit Cards – Make Sure to Pay Mortgage Payments Before Credit Card Bills

Posted on | February 11, 2010 | No Comments

If you currently possess a bad credit credit card then you will want to make sure that your mortgage payment is made before your credit card bills. We recently were exposed to a report that stated that there are many subprime borrowers who are up to date on their credit card bills but are delinquent on their mortgage.

If you are currently in this situation then you need to make sure that your mortgage gets paid before your credit card bills. Your credit cards are unsecured debts and they should be paid last. The first thing you should pay each and every month is your mortgage payment and then your car payment. These are secured debts that you could lose.

The biggest investment in your life is your home and if you stop making your mortgage payment you are basically telling banks and lenders that you are giving up on this investment. It would not be smart to give up on your mortgage to pay your credit cards. If you file bankruptcy your credit cards are going to get wiped out anyway so why pay them now?

If you have several bad credit credit cards that are past due but you are up to date on your mortgage this is much better than the opposite being true. Make sure that you take the necessary steps to get your mortgage paid each and every month so you can avoid foreclosure.
