Bad Credit Credit Cards – Get Approved and No Annual Fee

Posted on | December 29, 2009 | No Comments

Many American consumers will look to get a bad credit credit card in 2010. If you are looking to get approved for a credit card with no annual fee then there are options available for you. There are many websites on the Internet that offer free credit card searches that can help you find a credit card that best suits your needs. Something that is very important to do before you start this process is to know your credit score.

It is well worth the $20 to fork over to get a credit report today. You may find that there are many credit report companies that offer free credit reports but they will not give you as in depth of research and they are likely to charge you for membership later in time if you do not cancel. By buying a credit report from one of the three big credit agencies, Experian, Transunion, or Equifax, you will get more than your money’s worth.

If you find your credit score is well below 650 and you have missed several bill payments in the recent past then you are going to find it very difficult to get a low interest rate bad credit credit card. There are still options for you when it comes to credit cards but you are likely to find that the interest rate is relatively high on these cards. You may have a low introductory rate period but that will not last forever.

Many credit card borrowers think that this introductory rate period is going to last much longer then it does and they build up a huge balance on their card. When this time ends you are going to find that the interest rate on your card drastically increases. Some borrowers are seeing interest rates in excess of 20%. If you have a balance of several thousand dollars the interest rate is going to cause your balance to add up quickly.

It is extremely important that you do a significant amount of research before you decide what credit card is right for you. Before going through the entire application process make sure that you understand what your needs are and what credit card will fill those needs. Do not waste your time on credit cards that are just going to cause you problems in the future.
