Getting the lowest auto loan rates is something that many car buyers want to do if they plan on buying a car before 2010. If you have the idea of buying a car before 2010 and you are likely to find the auto loan rates are very low at the current moment. President Obama and his staff have worked very hard to keep interest rates low overall.
If you have bad credit and you have seen your credit score drop over the last few months is going to be very difficult to lock into a low interest rate today. Lenders are becoming much more strict in their lending practices as they have seen many borrowers who have defaulted on loans. These bad loans have caused many banks and financial institutions to lose a lot of money.
With so much money being lost lenders are now being much more strict with who they lend money to. If you have seen your credit score stable or increased over the last six months you are likely to be rewarded with a low interest rate on your auto loan. The best thing you can do is find out what your credit score is to determine if you are good or bad credit borrower.
If you find that your credit score is very low than please understand that low interest rate on any loan is highly unlikely for you. In the current economy lenders are just not allowing bad credit borrowers to borrow money at a low interest rate. The only thing you can do to get a lower interest rate is to build your credit over time and sometimes this takes months and possibly even years.
One thing you can do to help increase your credit score quickly is to buy your credit report and make sure that it is completely accurate. If there are any discrepancies on your credit report and you get them fixed you could save as much as 50 points on your credit score. This is well worth it in the long run it will save you much more than $20 you pay the credit report.
