America’s Got Talent Proves to be a Winner with Impressive TV Ratings for NBC

Last night the Bachelorette Ali received a huge audience as she narrowed the contestants from three to two. While the Bachelorette Ali has seen strong TV ratings this summer it has still ranked behind America’s Got Talent. For the week ending July 5th, America’s Got Talent had the second and third strongest showings in terms of TV ratings; #1 being NCIS.

Talent shows have become the craze of the nation as hits such as American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and America’s Got Talent continue to increase viewership. With NBC looking to get in on the talent pool it comes as no surprise to see them pushing this popular program during the summer months.

There is not a great amount of competition during the summer months as the NFL and College Football have yet to start and the Major League Baseball playoffs do not start for a few more months. It is also the case that most major networks do not release new sitcoms until later in the year.

With America’s Got Talent coming in #2 and #3 for the last available Nielsen ratings it should come as no surprise to see NBC spending quite a bit of money promoting their summer hit. If the ratings continue to climb we can expect to see large advertising dollars thrown at this show much like American Idol.
