The Federal Government credit card debt relief program was designed to greatly help those in debt. President Obama has worked very hard for the common American citizen and he will continue to do so when it comes to credit card debt. There are many valuable resources on the FTC.gov website that can help you understand your rights.

Many Americans greatly struggle when it comes to credit card debt and they have no idea who to turn to. Luckily there are many great government resources that are available for free. Take the time and effort to check out the FTC website and use these free resources to better educate yourself on your options.

The Credit CARD Act was recently signed into law and this should also greatly help when it comes to help you better understand your rights. This act will force credit card companies to get you a 45 day notice as to when your interest rate is scheduled to increase. Hopefully this will force cardholders to pay off that particular card.

The Credit CARD Act will also allow borrowers to see just how long it will take to pay off that credit card if they make the minimum payment. You will see this on your future credit card statement. Hopefully this will also educate cardholders and will force them to pay much more than the minimum payment.
