Federal Government Credit Card Debt Relief Plan – Educate Yourself on Debt Issues
Posted on | March 16, 2010 | No Comments
The federal government credit card debt relief plan is designed to help credit cardholders better understand their options when it comes to getting out of debt. To educate yourself on debt issues may be just what it takes to get out of debt and save a significant amount of money in the future. The FTC has a great amount of valuable information on FTC.gov and it may be wise to take advantage of this today.
President Obama and his staff have worked very hard to help Americans get out of debt as well as stay in their homes. One of the most important steps to getting out of debt is making sure that you understand how much you have to pay off each and every month. The Credit CARD Act of 2010 should greatly help with this as your credit card statement will better explain how much you need to pay each money to pay the card off.
Something else the Credit CARD Act will do is give borrowers a 45 day notice as to when there will be an interest rate increase for that particular credit card. Hopefully this will give credit cardholders a heads up and will help them to adjust their spending habits and pay the credit card off before their interest rate increases.
