Today’s Lowest Mortgage Interest Rates – Home Loan Rates Down to 2010 Lows
Posted: March 11th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »
Finding today’s lowest mortgage interest rates should not be extremely difficult as home loan rates are down to 2010 lows. At the present time we are seeing the 30 year fixed mortgage rate right around 4.7% which is the lowest level we have seen for the entire year.
Many analysts have predicted 30 year fixed mortgage rates are likely to rise sometime in 2010 but that has yet to happen. Over the last three months we have seen mortgage rates between 4.7% and 5% on a consistent basis. It will be very interesting to see if this level holds when the Federal Reserve Bank stops purchasing mortgage-backed securities.
There is very little argument to be made that the Federal Reserve Bank has held mortgage rates low for a significant period of time. The mortgage-backed securities purchase program has held mortgage rates around 5% for almost a year now.
At the end of March the Fed is going to stop purchasing mortgage back securities which is likely to push rates up. No one knows how high mortgage interest rates will go but we will no longer see the lowest levels in 2010 when this program is over.
