Obama Refinance Plan – Need Mortgage and Home Debt Relief Today?

Posted on | March 6, 2010 | No Comments

Many American homeowners are in need of mortgage and home debt relief. The Obama refinance plan was created to help all Americans gain access to lower mortgage interest rates which in turn would help them to lower their monthly mortgage payment. In theory this would be a mortgage debt relief program.

Unfortunately, many Americans are finding that being underwater in their home has caused great problems when it comes to refinance. If you owe more on your home then it is worth then mortgage lenders are likely not willing to qualify you for a low refinance rate in the current economic environment.

President Obama realized this and created the Making Home Affordable plan which allows homeowners to not only refinance their homes but modify their mortgage as well. If you are paying more than 31% of your household income on your mortgage you have the ability to get a home loan modification.

The Obama refinance plan is aimed to be the ultimate mortgage debt relief plan but it definitely got off to a slow start. The one thing that cannot be argued is that the government is trying to assist homeowners even if it has been a struggle. Make sure to do your research and find out how you can make your mortgage payment much lower.
