Mortgage Interest Rates December 24 – Rates Down Today

Posted on | December 24, 2009 | No Comments

Mortgage interest rates for December 24th, 2009 are down early.  Today we are seeing the 30 year fixed mortgage rate down to 4.84% while the 15 year fixed mortgage rate is down to 4.33%.  The 5/1 ARM is also down to 3.8%.  Any movement today can be taken with a grain of salt as the markets close early and there is likely to be very light volume.

The key indication as to where mortgage rates are headed will come next week when we get the final week of the year in and 2010 rolls around.  We will truly see the direction of mortgage rates in two weeks which will be the first full business week of 2010.  We at Subprime Blogger are very excited because we know that the amount of interest in the mortgage rate industry increases drastically.

With that being said, the staff is going to work very lightly, if at all, through the weekend.  This is a time when many Americans are spending time with friends and family and they are not greatly concerned with personal finances.  Spend time with the loved ones and make sure to check out the NORAD Santa Tracker.
