Government Approved Credit Counseling Agencies – Credit Repair Help

Posted on | December 16, 2009 | No Comments

For a list of government approved credit counseling agencies in your state make sure to check out this link.  If you are looking for credit repair help then you need to be on the look out for credit counseling agencies that claim to be government approved but are not.  During this tough economic downturn many people are trying to create “get rich quick” schemes and stating that they are government approved is always a way to get some extra customers.  Make sure to do some research before you start working with a credit counseling agency.

There are many phrases that these schemes use that will immediately alert you that something is wrong.  If you hear the phrase “completely remove your debt instantly” or “we can make your bad loans or credit card debt problems disappear” then you have a dead ringer that this company is probably not government approved.  Credit counseling is not something that can repair your credit instantly.  It takes time from both parties, the borrower and the agency.

If you are looking to get out of debt quickly then you will need one thing – money.  The only way you can quickly remove all of your debt is to actually pay it off.  This does not mean that you cannot get help and reduce the overall amount of interest you will pay in the long run but this will not help you get out of debt today!
