FHA Home Loan Rates December 11 – Mortgage Rates Move Up Today

Posted on | December 11, 2009 | No Comments

FHA home loan rates for December 11th, 2009 have moved higher today.  We are currently seeing the conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate around 4.75% while the conventional 15 year fixed mortgage rate is at 4.25%.  The conventional 5/1 ARM is also up to 3.8%.  FHA home loan rates have been coming in very close to conventional mortgage rates and sometimes even lower but make sure to contact your lender.

The 10 year treasury rate yield is now well above 3.5% which means that we could see much higher mortgage interest rates in the near future.  If you continue to wait in hopes that mortgage rates will get back down to an all time low you might be out of luck.  The last weekend in November when the 30 year fixed was at 4.49% might be the lowest we ever see.

No one knows where mortgage rates are headed from here but the 10 year yield sure looks like it had a double bottom and is moving higher.  If the 10 year yield can break 3.6% then it looks as if it is going to head all the way up to 4%.  If that is the case then you can expect to see the conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate around 5.5% or higher.
