Bad Credit Unsecured Personal Bank Loans – Citigroup Loans

Posted on | December 10, 2009 | No Comments

Getting a bad credit unsecured personal loan is something that many borrowers will do in the near future. There are many big banks that offer these types of loans including Citigroup. If you are currently a user of Citigroup you may finally getting a personal loan in the near future might be your way to pay off high interest rate credit cards and debts. There have been many articles recently published on paying off credit cards with personal loans.

The idea behind this process is that you will be able to get a lower interest rate on a personal loan which can in turn be used to pay for a credit card. The average interest rate for personal loans is between 12 and 18%. As many of you know credit card interest rates are much higher than this so it might be worth it to use this personal loan to pay off credit cards.

It would not be advisable for anyone who is not good with numbers to try this tactic. You’ll end up digging yourself deeper in debt which will cause even more problems in the future. If you are good with numbers it might be a good idea to set up a spreadsheet document that shows you just how much you should pay off in what period of time. This will help you better understand how much money you could save.

With any major financial decision in your life it is very important to do the research. Even though Citigroup might be offering extremely low interest rates on personal loans this might not be a tactic for you. If you are not good with numbers and you have had problems in the past figuring out how to pay off loans than you might want to consider just putting all your money towards paying the loans off rather than taking out a personal loan.

There many companies that are currently offering personal loans and by simply doing a Google search you will find many of these businesses. If you decide that a personal loan is right for you you might want to apply for several different loans from different companies to see just what interest rate you can get. Just because you get the lowest possible interest rate does not mean that that is the best company for you.
