An unsecured poor credit credit card is something that many consumers will look to use this Christmas holiday. If you plan to buy on credit this holiday season than getting a credit card with a low interest rate is very important. Unfortunately if you have very bad credit it is highly unlikely that a low interest rate credit card is available for you.

When you apply for credit card your interest rate is greatly determined by your credit score. The higher your score the lower the interest rate on the card. The opposite is also true. The lower your credit score the higher the interest rate on your card. The best way to get a lower interest rate is to find a way to increase your credit score.

Unfortunately it is the case that it often takes several months and possibly even several years to increase your credit score. If you have missed payments on any types of loans in the recent past than you are to find your credit score has dropped drastically. Lenders do not want to give money to borrowers who have missed payments in the last few months.

It seems to be the case that many Americans have missed payments as they are making as much money as they can but making ends meet financially is very difficult. Missing car loans, personal loans, or even home loans can greatly deter your ability to borrow money in the future. This is why it is extremely important to make sure all your bills are paid on time and in full.

It would be a very wise decision to sit down on the Internet and do some extensive research to see what card fit your needs best.     You also have to be sure to read the fine print. A lot of credit card companies will offer you a low interest rate just to get you to sign up, however after a year or so they will hike that up to an extremely high rate.
