Government Mortgage Refinance Plan – Refinance with Wells Fargo Today

Posted on | November 23, 2009 | No Comments

The government mortgage refinance plan was created to help homeowners refinance to lower rates and avoid foreclosure. Today is a great time to refinance and many lenders like Wells Fargo are offering mortgage interest rates very close to all-time lows. It is hard to turn on a financial network without seeing these all-time low mortgage rates being advertised.

If you are bad credit borrower than you are likely not going to see a mortgage rate under 5% but this does not mean that you cannot benefit from refinancing. Your mortgage rate will greatly be determined by the equity you have in your home and your credit score.

If your credit score has dropped over the last few years and you are finding it very difficult to make ends meet paying bills and there’s a good chance that your refinance rate will be well above 5%. Lenders have went through the credit crisis and they realize how difficult it can be when they offer low interest loans to bad credit borrowers and this will not happen again.

Even if you do have bad credit it does not mean that you cannot benefit from the home refinance process. With mortgage interest rates being at all-time lows there’s a very good chance that you could save up to a full percentage point on your mortgage interest rate. If you can not save more than a full percentage point then you will not want to go to the home refinance process because the costs will outweigh the benefits.

Pres. Obama has worked very hard to keep mortgage interest rates low and it is he up to you to lock into one of these low rates. One of the best things you can do to get a lower mortgage interest rate is to improve your credit score. Please understand that improving your credit score is not an overnight process and it could take several months and possibly even several years.
