VA Home Loan Mortgage Rates November 18 – Rates Up Today

Posted on | November 18, 2009 | 1 Comment

VA home loan mortgage rates for November 18th, 2009 are up.  Today we are seeing the conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate at 4.68% while the conventional 15 year fixed rate is at 4.25%.  The conventional 5/1 is also up to 3.72%. With VA home loan rates generally being .5% to 1% lower than conventional mortgage rates now is the time to lock in at these low rates.

The 10 year treasury rate yield has dropped significantly this week which was not as surprise when looking at mortgage rates.  Mortgage interest rates have continued to move lower as the 10 year yield increased.  Now we know that the 10 year needed a strong pull back and mortgage rates had already anticipated that.

It will be interesting to see if the 200 day moving average serves as support.  The 200 dma is now up trending so if it does serve as support then there is a good chance this will help to lead the move higher.  No one knows what will happen in the near future but it will be a fun ride nonetheless.
