VA Home Loan Mortgage Rates November 13 – Rates Stable Today

Posted on | November 13, 2009 | No Comments

VA home loan mortgage rates for November 13th, 2009 are stable.  Today we are seeing the conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate at 4.7% while the 15 year fixed mortgage rate is at 4.25%.  The conventional 5/1 ARM is up slightly to 3.66%.  We are getting very close to all time low territory so now would be the time to lock in to a low mortgage.  VA home loan mortgage rates are generally .5% to 1% below conventional mortgage interest rates.

This entire week we have seen the 10 year treasury rate yield consolidate after bouncing off its 50 day moving average last week.  This is one of the main reasons we are seeing mortgage rates get very close to all time lows.  It will be interesting to see when the 30 year fixed mortgage rate actually reacts to the 10 year treasury rate yield which has been up trending since the beginning of October.  Eventually we are going to see the market set interest rates rather than the Federal Reserve Bank.

With VA home loans being quotes under 4% at some lending institutions now is the time to take advantage of low rates.  If you are a veteran and have the opportunity to lock in to a very low mortgage interest rate then you need to at least think about taking some action.  By doing the research and finding out what rate you qualify for you may determine that you could save hundreds of dollars a month by locking in at a low rate.
