VA Home Loan Mortgage Rates November 9 – Rates Down

Posted on | November 9, 2009 | No Comments

VA home loan mortgage rates for November 9th, 2009 continue lower.  The conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate is down to 4.74% while the conventional 15 year fixed mortgage rate is down to 4.25%.  The conventional 5/1 ARM is bucking the trend and is actually up to 3.64%.  VA home loan mortgage rates are generally .5% to 1% lower than conventional mortgage rates.

The 10 year treasury rate yield continues to grind sideways after being up early last week.  After bouncing off the 50 day moving average we have seen very little movement from the 10 year yield.  This is to be expected after a strong move up.  Sideways consolidation is always healthy for a strong up trend.

If the up trend continues we are eventually going to see mortgage interest rates fall in line.  There is a good chance that this could happen all at once the way in which it did back in May.  We saw mortgage rates move up .75% in one week in late May because mortgage rates lagged the 10 year yield; could this happen again?
