VA Home Loan Mortgage Rates November 6 – Refinance Rates Drop Into Weekend

Posted on | November 6, 2009 | No Comments

VA home loan mortgage rates for November 6th, 2009 are dropping into the weekend. The conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate is at 4.79% while the 15 year fixed is at 4.27%. The conventional 5/1 ARM is also down to 3.62. The 10 year treasury rate yield is dropping as well which is likely why mortgage interest rates are down. VA home loan mortgage rates are generally .5% to 1% lower than conventional mortgage rates so as you can see VA rates are very attractive.

This weekend is sure to be a very slow weekend when it comes to financial news as weekends in the fall are quite uneventful. We could get some news late Sunday night but other than that we are not looking at very much going on. With this in mind you can expect the rest of Friday to be a slow day and enjoying Saturday might be the best thing you can do on this first weekend in November.

Monday should be quite eventful when it comes to business and mortgage news. With president Obama signing the first time home buyer tax credit into law we can expect to see mortgage applications skyrocket over the next few months. The fact that move up buyers can now benefit with a $6500 tax credit is huge for the housing market and it is likely to help move home prices higher into 2010.
