VA Home Loan Mortgage Rates November 4 – Rates Up Today

Posted on | November 4, 2009 | No Comments

VA home loan mortgage rates for November 4th, 2009 were up as the 10 year treasury rate yield bounced off support.  The conventional 30 year fixed mortgage rate is up to 4.85% while the 15 year fixed is at 4.31%.  The conventional 5/1 ARM actually went against the trend and was down to 3.65%.  VA home loan mortgage rates are generally .5% to 1% lower than conventional mortgage rates.

The 10 year yield moved down at the end of last week but saw a strong bounce yesterday and today.  The bounce off the 50 day moving average might be the first sign that mortgage interest rates are headed to 5.5% or higher.  This is bad news for anyone who is hoping to refinance at all time low mortgage interest rates.

There are still many mortgage lenders out there who are advertising mortgage rates under 5% so it would be advisable to get started on the mortgage application now.  The Federal Reserve Bank continues to take measures to ease their purchasing programs and this is going to cause mortgage rates to move higher; do not miss out on the current low mortgage rates.
