Garden Home Model – The Fresh Wave of New Homes?

I was recently introduced to the Garden Home model and I must admit that it is quite interesting.  It is a step below the traditional home model but is still nice enough to entertain guests and invite friends and family over.  From first glance, this looks like a perfect home for someone who would like to downsize at any time.  With the struggling economy, I think this is something many home owners would like to do but do not have the opportunity because of the model of their home.

I would be not be surprised at all if this becomes one of the top home models in the next few years.  Many parents with children leaving for college or young professionals have looked for a home that is not so overwhelming and this is the perfect opportunity.  I have many friends who are young professionals who do not want a free standing house because it is just too big and there is too much maintenence but they are reluctant to get a townhome or condo because it is a glorified apartment.

I have not done a lot of research on where these models are being built, but I would imagine they are going to start going up in every major city after the word gets out.  Have you seen this model in your home town?
