CNBC WTF Moment – Dylan Ratigan Leaving CNBC

Posted on | March 27, 2009 | 8 Comments

Today we learned that Dylan Ratigan will be leaving CNBC.  Theere are two sides to the story as to why Ratigan is leaving.  CNBC feels that he wants to be as big as Letterman while others say that he had a severed relationship with the GE Business News Station.  Either way, it will be interesting to see where Ratigan goes from here.

I was always a fan of Dylan Ratigan as he sought the truth in a timely manner.  He obviously had a misunderstanding with Charlie Gasparino in this video, but then again, who doesn’t?  Charlie is a hard man to get along with but is the best in the business at his job.

I believe Ratigan and Gasparino are on the same side of the tracks. Dylan obviously stepped on some corporate toes that cost him his job. A tremendous loss for CNBC. FastMoney is a dead duck now.

Dylan’s leaving CNBC is a real loss as he was willing to be more critical of some of the dishonest or questionable behaviors displayed on Wall Street and he took the time to make sure the viewers understood the issues that were being discussed by guests or the Fast Money traders. As for Gasparino, he finds it difficult to shut up and can be a real horse’s rear end.

CNBC may have, and Fast Money DEFINITELY has officially jumped the shark.

Seems they’re replacing Ratigan on Fast Money with Melissa Lee. This is not good…..

Nobody can replace Dylan on Fast Money, he realy cares about the viewers and askes all the right questioins of the traders and the guests. To replace him with a talking head like Melissa Lee is just plain stupid! All she does is read the teleprompter and mug for the camera, Obama can do that. It’s bad enough to have to listen to Macke and his 3 stocks he likes (disney, walmart, microsoft) but to have to listen to Lee’s shrill voice all the time I’ll be like a “rat in a coffee can”.I wish the show was GUY,PETE,Karen, and any of the other traders that sub when one of the regulars is off. Host? Maybe Melissa Francis. they need to do something! It’s been a great show but it may be time to move on.

Agree completely with Tardeaholic., although Macke isn’t so bad, he’s just being wisely conservative. Melissa Lee is smart, but should definitely be in the back office and not hosting. Her shrill voice was driving me nuts, but I thought Dylan was just still home sick. I put up with it awaiting his return. Now that he is not there and she is hosting, I’m not watching. Sorry to the other traders, I like them.

My family misses Dylan Ratigan from CNBC. Please replace Melissa Lee. It would be very appreciated.
