Not Getting Nickle and Dimed, Day 1

As I stated earlier, today was going to be an easy day as I was not scheduled to work.  Every purchase I made was over $5 and I did my best to get it all in one trip.  Gas, grocery shopping, rent and buying a book were all done in one swoop.

I decided that since I was not going to be nickel and dimed anymore, I should definitely read the book Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich.  While the book is a little bit different than my situation, it is still something I need to read.  In college, many of my friends and classmates read it as it is a business 101 classic.  It will be very interesting to see how she makes ends meet on so little income.

Tomorrow will be the challenge as it is my first day at work after decided not to spend under $5 per purchase.  I have a horrible habit of buying a water and a nutrition bar or much worse, a soda and a candy bar, at least a few times a day.  That will stop tomorrowI  I will make it a point to do all my purchases at once rather then several small purchases.  Being a manager of a retail establishment, I should know better than anyone that buying in bulk is much cheaper.  Now I am going to implement that in my own life.

    I can relate to you suprimeblogger. I was always conscious about my spending nowadays. But sometimes yoy know, a certain kind of depression wants me to spend more. :(
